My story…

Hi! My name is Jennifer and I am an oboist and a coach. I first became interested in coaching several years ago when I was living in Chicago and fresh out of my masters degree program. While I had been trained to win an orchestra job and play at at a professional level, I had been ill-equipped for the demands of a career in music outside of school. 

I was freelancing with different orchestras, teaching, trying to win an orchestra audition, and trying to maintain the demands that life in general will bring. I was working a lot but the life was unsustainable both financially and emotionally. Slowly I began to fall apart. I lost hope, forgot why I loved playing, struggled with jealously and comparison, and felt my dreams disappear. I was tired, broke, depressed and most of all I felt very alone. 

As a coach, I am passionate about equipping musicians and other creatives with the skills they need to thrive in their creative career. My coaching philosophy revolves around discovering one’s creative purpose, while fostering a mindset of growth and aligning one’s career path with their overall values and life goals.
